Friends - What are their Personality Types? - SpooSpa
You can instantly categorize any of your friends into one of six fundamental personality types using the simple test of which Friends character they are.

What Friends character do people say you are? If you are asked to choose which Friends character someone you know is most like, Phoebe, Joey, Ross, Chandler, Monica or Rachel will instantly spring to mind. This is the impression you should go with, even if you question it later, but if you want to confirm your first impression, read the category descriptions below. Find out if you really are a Monica, Phoebe, Rachel, Chandler, Joey or Ross personality type.

Type A – Monica

A Monica is obsessively driven. She is an over-achiever; meticulous and competent. She is intelligent, caring and nurturing. She values order and routine to the point of compulsion, and can become very anxious when things do not go as planned. Dynamic, helpful and compassionate, she can however become obsessed by detail and fail to see the bigger picture. She always strives to be the best.

Type B – Phoebe

A Phoebe lives a little in a world of her own. She is drawn to the unconventional. She can be very artistic and creative. She sees life from a slightly different angle to most people. She is often drawn to animals and to the spiritual. Social conventions and boundaries are not part of her thinking. She is fun, adventurous and always open to new ideas.

Type C – Rachel

A Rachel is the ‘It’s all about me’ girl. She is nonetheless very lovable and is a mixture of tough and vulnerable. She values expensive things and likes to have the best of everything. A Rachel tries to be ruthless but is actually very tender and easily moved. She is warm, impulsive and accident-prone. Deep down, she wants to be taken care of.

Type D – Chandler

A Chandler’s primary response to everything is humour. He can find it difficult to engage at a serious level if he feels at all threatened by the situation and will avoid conflict at all costs. He is a good friend and an all round decent guy.

Type E – Joey

A Joey’s prime characteristic is being slow on the uptake. He is also engaging, charming, a loyal friend and a devoted family member. He loves food, drink, sport and the sensual side of life. He is a good social networker and very successful with the opposite sex. He is playful, amiable and fun to be with.

Type F – Ross

A Ross is serious and intellectual. He is sensitive, thoughtful and can be a little pompous. He is very concerned with his social image and standing. He can take himself too seriously, but at heart is devoted to those around him.

Easier than Myers Briggs or Jung

You can typify yourself or your friends instantly using this test – there is no need to take a quiz or answer a long list of questions. Simply think of your friend and ask yourself which Friends character they are most like. The answer that springs to mind will nearly always be the right one - and if you're not sure, just ask a few mutual friends. A common theme will soon emerge.

How can you use the Friends Personality Test?

The Friends test can be used in job interviews, for dating and for finding house and holiday mates. Choose a Rachel if you want your employee to be a great schmoozer! For a fun date, wouldn't everyone choose a Joey? A Monica will work her butt off to be best at whatever her boss asks for. A Phoebe would be a great travel companion. A Ross longs for commitment and takes his responsibilities seriously. And a Chandler will be a great housemate - accommodating, helpful and won't steal your dates!
